Google VS Facebook – Social Gaming Battle

fcebook1 Google VS Facebook Social Gaming BattleGoogle has done it again. Now in a social gaming battle with Facebook. Starting to reach out to game developers, Google is starting their own gaming network. Their desire is to make money through advertisement and potentially over-shine the giants like Facebook.

In a recent press release, developers working with Google stated to be swapping ideas with Zynga Network Inc., the largest developer in social gaming and with Facebook.

Google has frankly stated they are not planning on launching a social media network of any sort. They just have an interest in social gaming because of the cash flow generated by social games, which made about $700 million in 2009.

These games have huge support, with games like Farmville on Facebook with 600 million plus continuous users. But making money off these games is entirely different. Google; however, has a leg up, due to its checkout online gaming payment system, making it more user friendly to complete transactions for their game.

Facebook has been proclaimed as the largest social networking platform due to a recent announcement of exceeding 500 million users. Google is interested in going toe to toe with Facebook; whether or not they follow through with their plans is still to be determined.
